Office of ОАО “Raps” OAO “Raps” (Open Joint Stock Company “Raps”) is one of the largest Belarusian rapeseed oil processing enterprises. It is also one of the leading agricultural enterprises in the Minsk district, having achieved high results in both crop production and cattle breeding.

Since entering the market in 2000, we have built a reputation as a reliable supplier of high-quality products in both domestic and foreign markets.

OAO “Raps” was established in 1991 and was reorganized in March 2003 through the merger with the “Novyi Byt” farm in the Minsk district.

Today, OAO “Raps” is a multifunctional agro-industrial enterprise, operating more than four thousand hectares of farmland and employing about 400 people.

The main activities of OAO “Raps” are:

  • vegetable oil and meal production;

  • cultivation of cereals and rapeseed;

  • milk and meat production;

  • animal husbandry.

The company comprises the following structural units:

  • oilseed processing department,

  • crop farming division,

  • fleet of motor vehicles and tractors,

  • four livestock farms.

Additionally, the company has a production laboratory, a boiler room, a woodworking shop, repair facilities, a modern grain drying complex, and other auxiliary units necessary for the efficient and continuous operation of the enterprise. The company also runs its own store and cafeteria.

A kindergarten, a secondary school, an arts school, and an outpatient clinic are located on the enterprise’s premises.

The company is engaged in both the production of vegetable oil and meal, and the cultivation of agricultural crops. Refined and deodorized rapeseed oil is suitable for direct consumption as food. It is also widely used in bakery, confectionery, and the production of mayonnaise and margarine.

For technical purposes, rapeseed oil is used in biofuel production and in the manufacture of detergents such as soap, personal care products, and lubricants.

A by-product of rapeseed oil production is meal. It is used as a protein supplement in cattle and poultry feed and in the production of mixed fodder.

In recent years, the company has achieved significant results in agriculture, including an increase in the total harvest and grain yields of rapeseed. This was accomplished through the use of high-quality seeds, adherence to agricultural technology, optimal planting times, and importantly, the renewal of the vehicle and tractor fleet. New tractors, “Amazone” combined seeders, a high-capacity sprayer, domestically produced “Lida-1300” grain harvesters, foreign-made “John Deere” and “Claas Lexion” combines, as well as a “SIMBA SL 500” cultivator with seeding equipment were purchased.

The increase in total livestock production is due to higher productivity. Focus is placed on breeding and improving feed rations through balanced fodder.

OAO “Raps” has significant potential for improving its production performance. This includes the continuous introduction of intensive farming technologies and increased output of finished products through technical upgrades in the main production shop.

The strategic goal of OAO “Raps” is the prospective development of the enterprise, aimed at modernizing production, diversifying operations, improving product quality, reducing costs, and ensuring profitability.

The main strategic objectives of OAO “Raps” in the medium term are:

  • Increasing the processing of rapeseed and, accordingly, raising rapeseed oil production to 21 thousand tons by 2011.

  • Raising crop yield levels.

  • Increasing milk yield and cattle live-weight gain.

To achieve its strategic goals, the company is constantly working to improve both the financial and technical aspects of its operations. To improve its financial standing, the company’s specialists focus on activities such as ensuring an uninterrupted supply of raw materials, increasing processing efficiency, continuously seeking new buyers, and implementing an effective marketing policy. As part of the technical development, the fleet of technological equipment is being renewed, new production technologies are introduced, and operational efficiency is increased.
